Texas Big Bend Route Overview
Our Texas Big Bend Bike Tour travels through some of the most remote terrain in the American southwest. From McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis, we begin our journey south into the Big Bend National Park area. This part of the Chihuahuan Desert is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species, as well as some colorful locals! After three days hiking, biking, and paddling in Terlingua (the closest town to the national park), we ride along the river toward Marfa, an artsy community in the middle of the desert. Our final ride takes us back to Fort Davis, where we have one final lunch and shuttle back to El Paso.
All of the riding on this tour is on roads, so there will be cars around. These desert roads typically experience light traffic, but you may see some large vehicles such as motorhomes or trucks. You can preview each day’s route using the interactive map below:
