Wilderness Voyageurs - Pavilion Series Outfitter Store Ohiopyle PAWhat is the Pavilion Series in Ohiopyle, PA?

This is a series of presentations, talks, travelogues and skills clinics centered around the outdoor lifestyle.

 

Most of these events are held at the pavilion behind the Wilderness Voyageurs store on Garrett Street in Ohiopyle.  This is a pretty laid-back setting, and everyone is welcome!  The schedule is always evolving, so join our email list or follow us on Facebook to stay up to date! We’ll post events in both places.

 

The Pavilion Series events are always free! Come to learn something or be entertained. If you have an idea for a topic or know of someone that would be a good fit as a speaker, give us a call!

Drysuit Demo April 17-18   Free drysuit demos! Finally you can try one before you make the investment. We have partnered with Immersion Research, and will have an assortment of sizes available to demo. You can take them out on a loop run for up to 2 hours.

Paddling Film Festival July 10 Join us for the World Tour Paddling Film Festival hosted by Wilderness Voyageurs & the Yough Riverkeeper.

 

Soft Goods Repair Techniques TBD 2021, The experts from Immersion Research will be here to teach you some techniques to keep your technical outerwear and river gear in tip top shape and repair it after it takes a beating! Join us in the Wilderness Voyageurs pavilion.

 

Plastic Kayak Repair Techniques TBD 2021 meet at the Ohiopyle Wilderness Voyageurs Pavilion  Learn how to repair those old boats hiding out under the deck or behind the garage. We will share tips and tricks so that you can pare down your boat quiver at Gauley Fest.

Fun with Art – hosted by Eddie Spaghetti 7th August 2021, Love art? Come see the talents of West Virginia Artist Eddie Spaghetti as he explains his unique craft. During this time he will demonstrate his beautiful creation style as well have many pieces for purchase. More artists to be announced at a later time.

 

Storytelling with Andy Tuck – 18th September 2021  Enjoy  the sounds of music from the past as Andy Tuck tells you the meaning and some history around your favorite old timey music.

Women’s Learn to Fly Fish Weekend May 22-23 & June 10-11

This ladies-only, 2-day workshop will start at the very beginning, so no prior experience is necessary. This class will teach you proper casting techniques, knot tying, bug identification and on-water strategy. The weekend includes 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 days of group instruction. Intro to Fly Fishing Weekend  June 5-6 & July 10-11 2020 Looking for a great way to learn the ins and outs of fly fishing? Our weekend-long class will give you the techniques and knowledge you need. We will examine the theory and practice of fly casting and provide individual casting instruction at each student’s pace. In addition, we will review equipment and knot tying, trout habitat, insect hatches and fly selection. The weekend includes 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 days of group instruction. Fly Fishing Merit Badge Weekend June 26-27 & Aug 12-13 2021 Learn the requirements to earn your Fly Fishing Merit Badge. Skills taught include how to tie knots needed for preparing a fly fishing rod, explanation on which fly to use and when, how to cast consistently and accurately using overhand and roll cast, how to find fish locations, leave no trace/catch & release importance and other skills needed for the fly fishing merit badge qualifications.
