I am visiting Ohiopyle to go kayaking…

Of course you are, because kayaking put Ohiopyle on the map. We are the original whitewater store! Do you need drip rings for your paddle? A Lucky Charm skirt that’ll stay on when you are running the slides on Meadow Run? Come see us. We are open every day all year, so we are even here when you forget your pogies. Quality gear from Immersion Research, Shred Ready, NRS, Mad River, Werner and more.

For Ohiopyle river information, stop by the shop. We’re always ready to talk paddling and help you find out what is running locally. We are located across the parking lot from the Loop takeout. There are a number of creeks within 15 minutes of town: Indian Creek, Meadow Run, Morgan’s, Jonathan and Bruner Run. These are all rain-based, but are paddlable on a regular basis.

DEMO Kayaks are available daily as long as the Yough is below 3 feet on the Ohiopyle gauge. Almost every whitewater kayak from: Wavesports, Pyranha, & Liquid Logic is available.

I want to know about Fly Fishing in the Ohiopyle area

Glad you asked! We are on the banks of the Yough which has seen a dramtic improvement in the fishery over the last 20 years. We have Grannom Caddis and Green Drake hatches, just for starters. Make sure to check out what’s hatching and the Yough stream conditions so you can be ready when you arrive. We have a great selection of flies and useful Orvis gear in the shop. We have a talented corps of fishing guides who are floating around and happy to provide you with some knowledge. Or why play with fate? Explore an Ohiopyle fishing trip and/or fly-fishing instruction – make the most of your fishing time! The Yough River and its tributaries are great waters to fish.
