The name “Ohiopyle” is from a Lenape Indian phrase ahi ohipele which means “it turns very white”, referring the frothy waterfalls on the Youghiogheny River running through the town.

Love to experience historic homes? Nearby to Ohiopyle are the famous attractions and architectural wonders of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. Daily tours are available to enjoy. We offer shuttles to Fallingwater for visitors, too – so if you are riding the GAP trail, just contact us to get a shuttle to Fallingwater. Its worth the visit! Ohiopyle has good eats and great microbrews, and be sure to visit the ice cream shop for the kids! Fallingwater doesn’t have a restaurant either, just a small cafe with limited hours. Come back to Ohiopyle and Falls City Pub after your Fallingwater tour.
