The Best Adventures for Scouts Begin with Experienced Staff & Incredible Adventure Resources

Wilderness Voyageurs is your complete adventure and learning resource for scouts, with merit badge programs, group activities and troop adventures. Our Scout trip ideas are endless: we  help your scouts learn, grow and sharpen their skills, from Cub Scouts to Eagle Scouts.

We were started by scouts! Founder Lance Martin was running canoe trips and rafting trips for scouts in the late 1950s, bringing troops from Pittsburgh into the hills of Ohiopyle. From there, a company was born. Today, many of our staff are former scouts, and we are actively involved with the Scout Councils of Western PA.  In fact, Wilderness Voyageurs is the only outfitter in Ohiopyle with registered BSA counselors. We are a registered adventure provider for the Laurel Highlands Council and we are the only registered merit badge provider in the region.

What does this mean to you a scout leader or scouting parent?
We understand the scout culture and programming and we invest in our leaders being registered BSA counselors. The local chapters recognize that we operate quality outdoor adventure programs for scouts.  We offer more programs for scouts than any outfitter in the Mid-Atlantic. We understand the organizing and budgetary challenges that come with running a troop, and that is reflected in our policies and pricing for scouts.

What are your troop’s goals?

Advancement, recreation, recruitment, or retention? We have activities that fit whatever your specific goals are for the trip. Scout trips and programs are available every day from April to October.
