Stonycreek River Rafting

A hidden whitewater rafting gem in Pennsylvania

Experience the Stonycreek Canyon!

As the name suggests, “the Stony” feels both like a creek and a river.  It is a 6-mile, Class III whitewater gem that is full of slides, big holes, a handful of boulder drops and a whole lot of surf waves!

Located just south of Johnstown, Pennsylvania about 1 hour north of Ohiopyle, the geology and river bed are just a tad different from our home river the Yough.

We will slide into the water downstream of Hollsopple, PA and make our way to Carpenter’s Park through 16 Class II – III rapids.  If river flows are lower, you’ll be escorted down the river by guides in kayaks while you pilot a one or two-person inflatable sit-on-top kayak, known as a duckie. If the river’s running high, you’ll paddle the river in a six-person raft with a guide at the helm or captained by your fellow adventurers.  Either way, expect a challenging, fun-filled adventure!

“As always, your staff has provided my group with an amazing experience.”
