Fun on the Katy Trail Bike Tour

Fun on the Katy Trail Bike Tour

My husband and I joined nine other bikers to ” do” the Katy Trail October 12-17, 2014. First the details: the rented bikes were terrific, the lodging was varied ( city and small towns). We enjoyed the variety and the warm welcome our group received..like stopping to see a friend, especially in Augusta. All the meals were great. Nine guys and two gals can really dig into appetizers and that’s before the main course. Lunch and snacks on the trail were varied and made to order. Love those brownies. The WEATHER: three days of off/on rain, three days of glorious sunshine. The trail: long, varied, scenic, perfect. J The fellow riders: 52 degrees and 38 miles of cold rain tends to make strong bonds. We moaned. We laughed. We enjoyed each other. The guides: Kevin and James. Two gems, who’s main goal was our safety and enjoyment. They adjusted the bikes, rode in front, by our side, and behind us.
James got me through the day of rain and Kevin produced HOT soup at lunch. They communicated special sites of interest and were simply wonderful guys. Bottom line, bikers: DO IT !

Rating: Excellent *****
