Bicycle rides and events this weekend

Get on your bike and ride!!

We understand how difficult it can be to break out of the winter doldrums and start to move your body.  That is why we are big fans of organized 1 day bike rides.  They give you a solid target to aim for, “This Saturday I am going to do a ride.”   These are also great social events, you will get a chance to meet other riders from your neighborhood, and Organized bicycle ride Colorado Springsfind new riding buddies.  Many of these bicycle rides are on closed courses or have a significant number of escorts with normally difficult intersections staffed with crossing guards.  This early in the season, another great benefit of  group rides is that they raise the level of awareness with drivers.,, reminding them bicyclists are back.

Most rides have a number of route options with varying mileages and difficulty levels.   Many of these rides are for charitable causes and are produced by local bike clubs.

Before you head out this weekend, remember to check the mechanicals of your bike, especially the tires.  Tires have a tendency to dry rot with the dry air of the winter, closely inspect the tires for long thin cracks on the sidewalls.  Another often overlooked item when preparing for a new season, is making sure your saddle is at the correct height.  Watch this video for a guide to correct bike saddle height.

Make a commitment to ride more miles this year and meet new riding friends.  Life will be so much better.

If you think these one day rides are a blast, then you should give an Inn to Inn Biking vacation a shot.  A vehicle to move your luggage, awesome bike guides to interpret the landscape and schlepp your luggage, and oh yeah sag stops with M&M’s. .. What’s not to love.
