Wild & Wonderful – absolutely!
We loved the trip: leaders, routes, riding companions, and food. The trip leader, Jesse, put together an excellent gravel riding experience. He picked challenging and incredibly beautiful roads for us showing why West Virginia’s motto is “Wild & Wonderful”. The co-leader, Rachel, was also fantastic: encouraging and supportive and guiding us through the rougher terrain. We highly recommend this ride to others.
It is challenging and riders should be sure that they do some gravel training. One rider in our group had never ridden gravel. However, with amazing determination and the support of our ride leaders that person did get through – a testament to his grit and to the excellent leadership of our guides.
We did the Pittsburgh to DC Rail Trails ride 4 years ago and also loved that ride. We love these rides because we think that Wilderness Voyageurs is a great company with great employees. During the Covid nightmare the company was very flexible about helping us to find a riding holiday that we enjoyed and that we felt would be safe. Our trip leaders and the office staff have been wonderful to work with.
