GAP and C&O Canal Bike Tour
Traveled with two friends from Ohio, had a terrific trip! Thanks to Josh and Erin who were knowledgeable, sensitive and most helpful to all on the trip. Went the second week in September and weather was beautiful, cool mornings and pleasant, sunny afternoons. Tow path a bit more rugged that the GAP, but both well-maintained, great historic signage, clean & frequent porta potties. Many birds, flowers and critters to observe also.
Scenery was magnificent, from broad vistas on the viaduct, to farm land, to cliffs, and roiling water falls. Good food, lots of snacks to keep us going, lodging was excellent in some places, ok in others. Rented bikes, but took own peddles and saddles. Worked well and rode comfortably on the Kona. Nice people on the trip, great fun gathering at the end of the day. All in all, an excellent and most memorable trip! Thanks, Wilderness Voyageurs and especially Josh and Erin. Josh….still hoping for a Natchez Trace trip!!
