Day 1: We’ll meet you in Eugene on the first morning where we’ll begin the ride to Corvallis along the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. Riding north on this moderate route with gentle rolling hills, take in the stunning views with a mix of farmland & vineyards, and the tranquil Willamette River. Arriving in Corvallis, you’ll have two nights to enjoy this bike friendly and charming downtown. Shops, great local eateries, and a charming downtown to explore right outside your hotel.
Day 2: Wake up and enjoy a day in Corvallis. After breakfast, we’ll hop on our bikes for a scenic loop; returning to Corvallis with time for you to explore. Swap out your biking shoes for your walking shoes and head out on the town. We’ll regroup later in the afternoon for a special trip to Van Duzer Vineyard. Perched on top of a hill overlooking the Willamette Valley – you’ll know why we aren’t riding here.
Van Duzer is known for its sustainably produced, cool-climate wines, particularly Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The winery benefits from the unique microclimate of the Van Duzer Corridor, a gap in Oregon’s Coast Range that allows cool Pacific Ocean breezes to flow through the Willamette Valley. This cooling effect is ideal for grape-growing, helping to produce wines with balanced acidity, bright flavors, and well-structured tannins.
Day 3: Say farewell to Corvallis as we take a short drive to Silver Falls State Park – the crown jewel of Oregon’s state parks. Located at the foothills of Oregon’s Cascade Mountains, Silver Falls is a stunning state park well known for its lush forests and dramatic waterfalls. You are in for a special treat today. The ride begins from tonight’s accommodations at the Oregon Garden Resort and will loop back to it. Keep your walking shoes handy in the van for some stops along the way to hike to stunning waterfalls. There is some climbing in today’s routes so follow your training plan. Once we return to town, explore the downtown of Silverton and the botanical gardens at the resort. There will be memories made today!
Day 4: From one charming Oregon town to another. Waking up at the botanical gardens, we’ll hop on our bikes after breakfast to make our way to McMinnville. Riding back across the heart of the Willamette Valley with rolling farmland, vineyards and views of Hazelnut orchards towards the charming town of McMinnville where we’ll spend 2 fabulous nights. McMinnville is central to the Willamette Valley and the Pinot Noir and other cool climate wine regions. Walk from your hotel to a few delightful downtown tasting rooms.
Day 5: Let’s explore some wineries! Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel Oregon this morning and a leisurely start before we head out to enjoy some of the fabulous local vineyards. Eyrie Vineyards, well know for chardonnay and Pinot Gris, also pioneered the Willamette Valley wine industry and elevated Oregon wines to global recognition. Still a family owned wintery, this is one of the tasting rooms on today’s menu.
Day 6: Our final day! This loop from McMinnville winds through the countryside and the heart of Willamette Valley wine country. After our ride we’ll clean up and head back to Eugene to say our goodbyes.
