Happy Spring!!!
Tomorrow is the first day of spring. And with it, Ohiopyle will be enjoying warmer temps and a beautiful weekend. The forecast calls for upper to mid 60’s both days, along with SUNSHINE!! That’s right…sunshine! The trails are drying out quickly. I went running on the Laurel Highlands Trail yesterday evening and was impressed with the trail conditions. There are a few trees down, but not too much mud or water. The same goes for Great Gorge Trail. The trail work Ohiopyle State Park did last season is paying off. New draining has helped maintain the trail and where it used to stay muddy for weeks, it’s nearly dry! The river is still running about 8 feet. Lots of fun to be had for paddlers this weekend! And fly fishers will be happy as well, since some of the Yough Tributaries are finally fishable again!
It is time to RAFT! Sunday opens the season with a trip down the Cheat Canyon. There is still room, so call us at 800-272-4141 to reserve your spot and go have some fun!!
