Highwater on the Yough
The snow, plus warm temps, then add a little rain….and the highwater is here! Really high. Hopefully not flooding high, but we are prepared just in case. The sandbags are full and we’re deciding exactly where they should be placed. Friendsville is more of a scare than Ohiopyle, but you never know. The rain starts later tonight and is expected to pour all through tomorrow. Right now the Lower Yough is 11 feet and rising. Most of the creeks were too high or full of strainers to run today, leaving only the loop for only the best boaters in town.
