KATY Trail sites
The KATY Trail is a 237 mile rail trail that crosses almost the entire state of Missouri. Once a thriving railroad corridor, it is now a Missouri State Park and home to the longest rail trail in the United States. The Wilderness Voyageurs Bike crew is out doing some recon work.
Doing the leg work and research to design a new trip is very difficult and taxing…..
We hope you will join us to enjoy the fruits of their work.
A couple things that are of interest to many of our biking clients; The trail surface is almost identical to the Great Allegheny Passage, crushed limestone. Pretty much every day you can find either a winery or micro-brewery. The towns along the Katy, are really cool and provide a lot of local flavor.
We will be offering a June and September departure in 2012. With the plan to expand into May and October departures beginning in 2013.
We will be riding the Katy, west to east, hopefully keeping the wind at our back. You will begin riding in Clinton, Missouri and finish up in St. Charles Missouri, 6 days later.
Average daily mileage will be about 40 miles
