Easy Bike Ride in Georgia
Coming from New Hampshire, the April bike ride along the ‘Gold Coast’ of Georgia was a great way to get a head start of the biking season.
The brochure did say beginner, but it was still less biking than I had anticipated and more time traveling in the van than I wanted.
The addition of a Garmin to each bike was a great asset and much appreciated.
Food and accommodations were generous.
The two guides, Josh and Bill were knowledgeable, helpful, and positive. I would have liked to know the time and place of meeting for meals and/or leaving ahead of time. It was nice there was no pressure, but if everyone had the exact time, maybe printed on the day’s cue sheet?, it would have been easier.
It seems there was something of a disconnect between the office and bikers. I never got my own email. What about the ‘dropbox’ for photos? And my impression was that we would be leaving Savannah right after lunch. It was late afternoon rush hour when we left and it made for a LONG ride home.
I would recommend this bike tour for anyone who has never gone on a supported ride. Maybe call it see the Georgia Coast with a little biking thrown in. I wanted to love it. I liked it.
Rating: Pretty good ****
