Cheat River Canyon
Spring time rafting in northern West Virginia: Cheat Canyon
The Cheat River Canyon is pure West Virginia whitewater rafting, deep remote canyon, 40+ rapids and few other river users. Whether low or high water, the Cheat Canyon is a great & adrenaline filled experience. Eleven miles of white water with more rapids than all the river guides have names, wandering its way through the spectacular Canyon, is enough to impress even the most seasoned whitewater enthusiast. The Cheat River is remote, yet easy to access from I-68, 3 hours from Washington DC, 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh.

When booking trips for the Cheat River, remember that everyone in your group should be over sixteen, and prior experience isn't necessarily needed, but it is strongly recommended. Also to get the best levels for the Cheat book your trips for the spring, when the levels are at their highest. The Cheat is a natural flowing river, so we have to depend on mother nature to provide the water, as opposed to the man behind the control panel at the dam.
