Keep reading for a quick overview of each of our fall tour options.
Kentucky Bike & Bourbon
Nothing says fall quite like sampling bourbon from our country’s oldest distilleries on our Kentucky bike tour. The spirit’s common notes of caramel, vanilla and oak pair perfectly with the state’s rolling countryside in the throughs of seasonal transition.
This 5-day southern tour starts in the Home of Thoroughbred racing at Keeneland Horse Track. Guests ride through lush horse country to several distilleries, including Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace and Four Roses. Between the tastings, guests have the opportunity to learn about farm-to-table agriculture and culinary practices at Shaker Village.
Cycling Chattanooga
Our Chattanooga, Tennsesse bike tour weaves through the city as well as several nearby state parks. Aptly named the Scenic City, Chattanooga in the fall is hard to rival with roads covered in leaves, perfectly framed waterfalls and mountains filled with color.
This 4-day bike tour takes off in the peak of fall in Tennessee, adding color to an already vibrant region. Along with exploring the city, guests will have an opportunity to experience sweeping overlooks and rushing waterfalls at Cloudland Canyon and Red Clay State Parks.
Ohio: Cycle Cincinnati to Cleveland
Our 6-day Ohio bike tour follows the Ohio to Erie Trail that spans the state from Cincinnati to Cleveland. The rail trail takes riders through quiet countryside paths and exciting urban centers. It passes through downtown Columbus and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
This trip is rich with the homey feeling of a midwestern fall as guests ride through small rural towns decorated with pumpkins, scarecrows and harvest accents. The leaf canopy is just starting to burst with color and begin to drop along the path for our tour.
Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay
The coast along the Chesapeake Bay is bursting with parks, forests and mountain ranges. When the leaves begin to change, the fall foliage is unrivaled. Our Chesapeake Bay bike tour takes guests through this region to experience the best of the season.
The 4-day tour visits the Blackwater National Wildlife Reserve, St. Michael’s Maritime Museum and several historical sites. Truly one of our best of the fall bike tours.
Colonial Williamsburg
Autumn ushers in mild temperatures and low humidity for our Williamsburg, Virginia bike tour. Ride through the heart of the American Revolution, experiencing living history at the Jamestown Settlement and take in the beauty of Virginia in fall.
The region’s white oak, birch and willow trees explode with fiery foliage as guests pedal the Virginia Capital Trail. Visiting the “Historic Triangle” of Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown, guests get to encounter actors in period costume as they depict daily colonial life.
Mickelson Trail & The Badlands
Summer tourists thin out as temperatures cool considerably during fall in the Badlands region for our South Dakota bike tour. With less traffic, guests can glide through Badlands National Park’s smooth, paved roads with ease and encounter native species residing in the park.
After experiencing the unique landscape of the Badlands, guests hop on the Mickelson rail trail for a few days. The trail cuts through the Black Hills region filled with yellow aspen trees in full transition. Monuments to Crazy hores and the found fathers break up the rolling landscape of such an incredible ride on this 6-day tour.
Georgia Gold Coast
As the humidity starts to drop in the south, our Georgia bike tour begins in Savannah. Steeped in history, this coastal town is said to be full of haunts and ghosts. Perfect for the spooky season. Guests will spend the first night in town, so maybe a ghost hunt is in order?
But don’t worry, the southern hospitality extends beyond the occult and our tour is much more about the lively side of coastal Georgia. In addition to Savannah, the 4-day tour travels across wildlife refuges and islands. Guests can enjoy bird watching, and immersing themselves in a crisp coastal ecosystem.
Missouri’s Katy Trail
Ride the longest rail trail in the country through Missouri’s most scenic areas. Our Katy Trail bike tour features spectacular views of the Missouri River valley that become even more awe-inspiring as summer fades into fall. A fair amount of the landscape is even dotted with pumpkin fields!
Guests will observe European influence as they travel through the farthest settlements west of the Mississippi River. On parts of the trail, towering limestone cliffs called the Manitou Bluffs tell the stories of Native American tribes. The 6-day tour ends in historic St. Charles with a visit to Schlafly Brewpub, who boast a Pumpkin Ale to finish out the fall bike tour.
