Colorado Road Bike Tour Lodging
Unique lodging is what we love!
One of the great things about Colorado is the diversity in lodging, cabins hidden in canyons, world class private resorts, comfy B & B’s to choose from. We have focused on finding off the beaten path unique lodging that is comfortable, not pretentious, but just right. We feel strongly that lodging contributes greatly to gaining a sense of place, and no place is it truer than on the Colorado Road Bike Tour.
Breckenridge, Colorado
Not the best picture quality, but this is one of the views from your first night’s lodging. Did we mention that the hot tubs are on the deck below this, and have a similar view for your post ride enjoyment? This lodging just completed a multi-million dollar upgrade in 2014.
Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Well, not totally off the beaten path, but you will start planning your return as soon as you depart. Our lodging is part of the famous Hot Springs Pool. We over look the pool and have a view of the mountains. The pool is about 100 yards from the hotel, and they serve a fabulous breakfast poolside. We will bike into and out of this night of lodging.
Redstone, Colorado
Redstone is called the Ruby of the Rockies. A town of 85 people surrounded by towering red cliffs, a quaint boulevard lined with cottages from the late 1800’s. The entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Redstone Inn is quirky and cool and historic, and has a fabulous tavern. We will bike right into the lobby.
Aspen, Colorado
The lodging options in Aspen are famous, wide ranging, many adjectives available here. The Hearthstone House, is low key, in the center of town, and Frank Lloyd Wright inspired. Comfortable and a great place to sip a glass of wine and stare at Aspen Mountain. While wandering the streets of town, keep your eyes open, never know who you will see. Another night of riding straight into your lodging. ( Picking up on a theme?)
Red Cliff, Colorado
This cool building is actually a reproduction, so the charm of a 100 year old building but the conveniences of modern lodging. Red Cliff is a gem of a place, most Coloradans you ask, do not know where this little town is hiding. Your farewell dinner is right across the street at Mango’s Grill, the same kind folks are our dinner hosts.
Interesting? Cool? Comfortable? You bet, we are pretty sure you will fall in love with the lodging options on this tour. They are all quite different, but we often hear how at least one of these lodges makes someone’s top 5 list of hotels.
Colorado Road Bike Tours will knock your socks off
Join us on a Colorado road bike tour either in June, or September. June is wildflower time, and September is bursting with the gold foliage of Aspens. No matter when you go to Colorado the scenery is 360 degrees and amazing. Red rock spires, the Colorado River, 14,000 foot peaks, quiet mountain lakes, what is the landscape that gets you fired up?
Check out the entire Colorado bike tour itinerary. We do get a lot of questions regarding the difficulty level of the tour.. This tour has been designed for intermediate bikers of reasonable fitness. Check out the Colorado ride profiles and a description of the paved trails that we utilize. The Rio Grande Trail between Glenwood Springs and Aspen is the longest rail-trail in Colorado, 42 miles of velvet pavement at a maximum grade of 2%
