What’s even better than fly fishing in the Yough? How about fly fishing, kayaking and biking? This unique trip combines two great ways to access excellent fishing spots, and experience the gorgeous scenery of Ohiopyle.
This portion of the river starts at the tailrace/outflow of the Yough Lake. This frequently stocked area makes for a superb start to the day. The next nine miles are a breathtaking assortment of mixed riffles, pools, rolling flats and pocket water galore. Cold water releases from Yough Lake Dam create a true tail water with good trout temperature year round, from Confluence to well below Ohiopyle.
It’s all the rage! You get to kayak and fish all in the same day. Our stable fishing kayaks allow you to cast from the boat and even stand if you’d like.
Trips are available on the Middle Yough in Ohiopyle PA and in Friendsville, Maryland as well.
The Great Allegheny Passage (aka – rail trail) runs along much of the Youghiogheny, Casselman and N. Branch Rivers. Our guides will lead you by bike from one access spot to the next, efficiently covering 8-10 miles of water in a day. This is a great way to access the rivers and a variety of fishing locations.
