Fly fishing Youghiogheny style

This 2-day clinic is a great introduction to the basics of fly fishing and requires no previous experience. The clinic is taught by Wilderness Voyageurs’ very talented fly fishing guide Ashley, in Ohiopyle, where breakfast and lunch is provided both days. You’ll learn to ‘match the hatch’, determining which bug species fish hunt throughout the year. After becoming oriented with your fly rod and learning about casting on land, you’ll go to the water to study currents and fish!

Wilderness Voyageurs introduced the women’s fly fishing clinic 2 years ago, in order to unite women who want to learn to about hatch patterns, casting and fly fishing gear in Ohiopyle, among the typically man-dominated participants of the sport. Attending a women’s clinic with Ashley will not only perfect your casting technique and develop your river intuition, but also brings together a group of like-minded women as adventurous as yourself! Nestled in the Laurel Highlands of PA, Ohiopyle is home to PA’s largest land-based state park and the beautiful Youghiogheny River and it’s surrounding creeks. This tiny river town has so much to offer after you’ve made your catches of the day: Ohiopyle bike rentals, Ohiopyle State park hiking and good food in Ohiopyle at the Falls City Pub!
