This is a 2-day workshop that will start at the very beginning, so no prior experience is necessary. This class will teach you proper casting techniques, knot tying, bug identification and on-water strategy. A Pennsylvania fishing license is required.
Ohiopyle and the Youghiogheny River will be your classroom for this fun weekend class. Saturday will begin with some basic instruction on the equipment and fishing lingo. Then off to casting practice. The afternoon will find you with your feet and line in the water, either in Meadow Run or the Youghiogheny River.
Sunday we will spend some time on the life cycle of bugs and bug identification to determine what is hatching while you are fishing. We’ll then spend time honing your casting technique, and then it’s back to the water! The Women’s Fly Fishing Clinic is a favorite and books up quickly every year, so reserve your spot soon.
If you have access to waders, bring them along. If not, be sure to bring water shoes or sport sandals that can get wet.
