Ohiopyle – Offers Fantastic Biking!
The beautiful mountains around the Youghiogheny Gorge make this area a bicycling playground! All types of cyclists can find a good ride from Ohiopyle. From the Ohiopyle Visitor Center, you can access heart-pumping road riding, technical mountain bike trails in Ohiopyle State Park and the Great Allegheny Passage, one of the country’s most famous and scenic rail-trails.
About the Great Allegheny Passage – GAP Rail Trail
The Great Allegheny Passage, a 130-mile rail-trail from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD, runs right through the middle of Ohiopyle. This flat, crushed-limestone rail-trail is the perfect place for a casual day on the bike. Learn all about the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) Trail.
Available Bike Rentals
Choose from more than 100 bikes at our two locations in downtown Ohiopyle. We have all bike sizes – for everyone from a tiny kid to a tall adult. For riding the Great Allegheny Passage, you can choose a red Schwinn cruiser, a Kona Dew hybrid bike or hardtail and full suspension Kona mountain bikes. For the little ones, we have pull-behind carts and Cannondale kids’ bikes.
- Rent a bike for an hour or for the whole day – whatever suits your plans!
- We also have a fleet of high-end mountain bikes. These bikes have big tires and lots of gears to get you up and over our rocky trails!
- Bike rentals are $8 an hour or $30 for the day (more than 5 hours)
- Kids’ carts are $4 an hour
Two Bike Rental Locations
You can rent a bike from our main location at 103 Garrett Street, by the railroad tracks at the north entrance to Ohiopyle on Route 381. If you are arriving from the Donegal or Seven Springs area, we’re the first building on your left as you enter Ohiopyle. This location is open all year, and bike rentals are available every day. During the Summer and Fall, visit our full service bike shop at the corner of Sheridan Street and Parkview Drive.
