The Night Before Rafting You will arrive in the area to camp the evening before your first day of activities. Don’t forget your s’mores fixings! You will camp at Tall Oaks Campground, eight miles south of Ohiopyle.
Day 1 Breakfast is served at the Wilderness Voyageurs base in Ohiopyle. You will be 20 steps from the check in location for your rafting trip.
Whitewater rafting takes place on the Lower Youghiogheny, a Class III whitewater trip appropriate for ages 12 and up. We will tackle this adventure in rafts that hold 4- 6 people. This section of river has 25 rapids and covers 7.5 miles, we will be on the river for 4-5 hours. Lunch is deli-style and served about mid-way through the trip.
Following your rafting trip, put on your walking shoes and explore the waterfalls and other sights of Ohiopyle State Park.
Your dinner will be available for pick up after 5:30 at our on-site restaurant, Falls City Pub. Your dinner will be packaged for easy transport back to the comfort of your campsite. You’ll be tired, full and ready for a great night sleep.
Day 2 Breakfast is served at the Wilderness Voyageurs base in Ohiopyle. You are super close to your check-in and your sweet mountain bikes.
Today we take to the single track for a day of mud, sweat, and tears (hopefully few of the latter) We will be cruising the trails in style, everyone will be issued a mountain bike. Your dirt jockeys (mountain bike guides) for the day will cover the operation of your bike, trailside repair tricks, trail ethics, and superior riding technique. We usually shuttle to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain where we can ease into the day. After a few hours of riding we descend down the mountain and return to Ohiopyle for lunch. Lunch is deli buffet style served at our base. Following lunch, riders are given an option of two different rides of varying difficulty.
Showers and change facilities are available at our base facility to clean up. Then you can relax under the trees by the river, head home or check out more of the local attractions like Fort Necessity, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater or the Flight 93 Memorial.
“As always, your staff has provided my group with an amazing experience.”
