Scouts Kayaking

Learn to Kayak

Learn to KAYAK! Your scouts see it on TV, now they’ll get their chance to get up close and personal with the river. The multiple sections of the Yough and surrounding rivers are an ideal classroom that allow us to fit the appropriate water to the troops skill level and comfort zone. All equipment is provided. They could leave the day with a life long passion! And…there is a good chance that one of their kayak instructors was formerly a scout themselves as many of our staff once were. Besides… It’s FUN!

This single day program is intended to “wet” the scout’s appetite for kayaking. Half of the day is spent on still water, and the second half of the day is conducted on moving class I & II whitewater. So the day is more focused on learning then just having a care free day of whitewater fun. If your unit is looking more for a day of whitewater rafting, then check out our scout whitewater rafting options.

If your unit is interested in the Whitewater Merit Badge, that is a seperate program, follow the link for details.
