Food and Beverage Manager - Falls City Pub

Title: Food and Beverage Manager 

 

Be the curator of craft beer tap lists, pub-style cuisine, live music line ups, and casual outdoor adventure vibes. Falls City Pub is known as “THE” place to be in Ohiopyle and is the leading dining establishment in the greater Ohiopyle region. There’s no better place for casual family dining, local craft beer, live local music, and adventure aprés. Our Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for facilitating the casual outdoor adventure vibes that visitors and the local community look forward to year-round.

 

With your office steps away from the Great Allegheny Passage, the largest state park in Pennsylvania, and the beautiful Youghiogheny River this position is ideal for someone who values an outdoor lifestyle.

Job Summary: Oversee all aspects of the restaurant operations at Falls City Pub and Wilderness Voyageurs, including the activity meal program, and catered group program. This means wearing many hats and at some point, all hats. This position reports directly to the General Manager of Wilderness Voyageurs. This position is the primary contact with Pub ownership and is the primary liaison to the other operational departments of the Wilderness Voyageurs companies.

Areas of direct responsibility:

  • Delivering excellent service and product to the guests of Falls City Pub
  • Falls City Pub facility management, FOH & BOH
  • Restaurant FOH staffing and training
  • Managing to monthly P&L budgetary expectations
  • Menu development and implementation
  • Monitor and manage daily operational systems and processes
  • Monitor and manage 3rd party contracts-uniforms, cleaning, etc.
  • Alcohol ordering and inventory management
  • Restaurant BOH hiring
  • Risk management oversight
  • Restaurant related events: music, tap take-overs, beer dinners etc.

 

Work conditions and scheduling:

  • Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor scenarios.
  • Weekends and holidays are often workdays.
  • Must be able to work and stand on concrete floors.
  • Must be able to stand for potentially long periods of time
  • Flexibility in your daily schedule for recreation.
  • Casual yet professional attire.
  • Current Driver’s License required

 

This is a job that is inherently physical, Physical requirements for the position are:


  • You must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • You must be able to lift 40 pounds over your head.
  • You must be able to work in a standing position.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Provide exceptional customer service through mentoring team members and leading as an example on the floor.
  • Hire, train, and schedule staff while maintaining payroll targets.
  • Display an intermediate level of computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, POS Systems, and Email.
  • Evaluate and coach all team members to continually provide an excellent guest experience.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures with departmental staff.
  • Follow and enforce all applicable PA Liquor Laws.
  • Follow and enforce all ServeSafe and Health Department guidelines.
  • Execution and oversight of daily restaurant operations.
  • Maintain ServeSafe Food Manager certification.
  • Maintain RAMP certification.
  • Manage inventory and stock levels of food, beer, and alcohol with an eye to maintaining desired margins.
  • Consistently and aggressively challenge vendors for opportunity buys and better terms, co-op, rebates.
  • Monitor and maintain all restaurant equipment.
  • Maintain a regular and punctual work schedule as agreed upon with ownership.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to provide information and content.
  • Rallying staff around the spirit, ethos, and goals of the company.
  • Respond to customer and employee issues, requests, and questions.
  • Create customer loyalty through a welcoming and fun dining environment.
  • Manage entertainment and special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

If you want to be a river guide – this is the place to learn! No experience is necessary.

Servers - Falls City Pub

Servers are responsible for providing friendly and attentive service to our patrons in both an indoor and outdoor setting.  Prior restaurant serving experience preferred, but if you are a friendly go-getter, that may work also.  Must be 21 years of age.

Cooks - Falls City Pub

We have a fun and fast paced Back-of-House team.  Do you want to learn the in and out of a restaurant operation?  This is the place for you.  Our kitchen team has been a very stable and creative force for many years.

Campground Host - Tall Oaks Campground

Live in the middle of a beautiful oak forest.  Our campground is quite large and fairly quiet.  We are home to the largest camp sites in the Laurel Highlands, and close to the major attractions of Ohiopyle, Yough Lake, Frank Lloyds’ Fallingwater and Fort Necessity.

Fly Fishing Guides

A fly-fishing guide/instructor’s job, at its core, is to give people a successful fly fishing experience. This does not automatically mean catching boat loads of fish. It means that the overall guest experience is overwhelmingly positive, and that the guide/instructor has a high level of professionalism, and attention to detail. Wade trips and float trips are usually with guests who have some, if not a lot of experience, whereas our instructional programs are all about getting beginners the skills and knowledge to appreciate the sport and hopefully create in them a life long passion.

CDL Drivers

Do you have a CDL with a passenger endorsement? Come work in a low stress, fun environment, where your passengers are happy and thankful for you getting them to the fun.  We operate 40 passenger buses and 15 passenger vans. Both full time seasonal and part time seasonal positions available.

Bike Mechanics

Shifters and Derailleurs are your cup of tea?  Be a part of the team that keeps our fleet of bikes happy and humming along.  We have a number of levels of mechanics that we need, so if you have a love of bikes and a mechanical bent, and want to learn to be a mechanic, indicate you would like to be an entry level mechanic.   We also have a number of mid level and lead mechanic positions available that require previous experience.
