This is the Steelhead mecca, with fighting fish larger than 10 pounds being pretty common. There are dozens of tributaries that Steelhead are running into for winter spawning. Our main targets will be the mythical runs of Elk Creek and Walnut Creek, located to the west of Erie. Van transportation from your local hotel in Erie is provided.
The state of Pennsylvania stocks more than 1 million juvenile Steelhead a year. Considering that more than 80% of the Steelhead caught in 2007 were released, the Erie Steelhead run is becoming one of the best trophy fisheries in the country.
We run these trips primarily during the week to avoid the crowds. Three anglers to a guide is our standard format. If our scheduled departure dates are not convenient for you, custom departures can be arranged with a minimum of 2 fisherman.
2018 Trip Dates Call for dates in the fall as we can determine the stream conditions and the movement of the fish
