This is a great way to enjoy the trails of Ohiopyle State Park and the beauty of the Middle Yough! You’ll pedal yourself 9 miles along the Great Allegheny Passage, a relatively easy and flat ride. We will meet you at The Ramcat Launch area, where you will swap your bike for a raft. Your relaxing float will return you to Ohiopyle.
About the Bike Ride
You’ll be riding a portion of the Great Allegheny Passage, at only a 2% grade on a nice crushed limestone surface. The only traffic you will encounter are other bikers. The trail leads directly to the launch area—just keep the river on your left! We provide the bike, choose from a number of great Cannondale or Kona bikes. ( Sorry we do not allow personal bikes due to logisitical challenges)
Once you receive your raft, you will learn some safety basics and what to expect on the river. If you have any questions, be sure to ask!
The Middle Yough is a class I-II section: expect some splashy water, but no large whitewater rapids. There may be some navigating around rocks and a few smaller waves. Your craft will be a raft, unless you choose to upgrade to a duck (single or double inflatable kayak). Pack your lunch, as this is a non-guided adventure. Plan to swim, relax, laugh and enjoy!
