From what you've read or heard, you know The Lower Yough is a fun Class III whitewater trip that is typically operated as a guide assisted trip. This means you won't have a guide in your boat. You might be wondering if you and your group will be comfortable without a guide in your boat. First thing to know is that the guides are nearby. They are in the lead raft and the sweep raft and in safety kayaks close by. Through the large rapids they will be giving directions to help you navigate the whitewater. However, you still might have much more fun or feel better about your group with a guide in your boat. That is what the Guide in Boat option is for! You will join the rest of the guide assisted trip with the confidence of a professional guide helping you navigate the whitewater rapids on the Lower Youghiogheny.
