Rock Climbing Merit Badge Program
Take learning & advancements to new heights!
 Our goal with this program is to turn scouts on to a life time sport. Badges are one thing, a new passion is another!
This one-day course gets you up on the rock and teaches you the correct techniques. You will learn what "on belay" means and gain a respect for the proper use of equipment & the environment.
Your day will begin with “Ground School”, a review of your knots, climbing etiquette, safety protocols, and a discussion of expectations for the day. Our climbing location is a 20 minute bike ride from our base in Ohiopyle, we provide the bikes.
Upon arrival at the rocks, we will begin by setting up rappels and a top rope site. Throughout the day we will add climbs that are progressively harder. This setup will ensure that all participants are challenged (and tired out) by the end of the day.
During the course of the day you will complete all rock climbing badge requirements.
Wilderness Voyageurs provides: transportation, guides, climbing equipment, and a deli style lunch.
All participants should have a pair of snug, comfortable soft sole shoes and wear shorts.
Prerequisites: Know the merit badge knots.
