  • Riders park in Cumberland, MD and shuttle to Pittsburgh (or get dropped off in Pittsburgh)

  • Confluence, PA. to Meyersdale, PA.  
  • Anyone looking to add miles and get a little climbing in your route? This is the day! An alternate road ride route from Confluence to Meyersdale will be provided in the morning - if you choose to tackle some SW PA hills. It's a beautiful ride!

  • Meyersdale, PA. to Cumberland, Md. FINAL DAY! You'll get to arrive back to your vehicle at your own pace.

 great allegheny passage elevation mapWhen you depict elevation profile over 335 miles in a few inches, the scale can greatly exaggerate the steepness of the ride.  The steepest section of the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail going west is between Cumberland and Frostburg.  It climbs about 1,300 feet in 15 miles for an average uphill grade of 1.78% and a maximum grade of 3%.  Don't be intimidated by the graphic.

You'll get to enjoy the nicest rail trail descent in the world once you reach the top. It'll be well worth it!

Getting there and away

If you are flying to and from the Sojourn, we recommend flying in to and out of Pittsburgh.  If driving, you will drive to Cumberland, MD where you will park. A bus will be departing at 8 AM on June 23rd for Pittsburgh, PA. You will be bike riding back to your vehicle.

2. You will receive a confirmation following your reservation. Please open the link that says "registration form" and complete this form. Please note - every participant MUST complete their own form.
