Departure Point: Clinton, Missouri

End Point: St. Charles, Missouri

Tour difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate. Remember – there is a Support vehicle always close at hand! The Wilderness Voyageurs SAG wagon is all about making your biking vacation enjoyable, comfortable and just the right level of difficulty.

We will travel from West to East, taking advantage of the “downhill” run towards the Mississippi and hopefully a little tailwind when it is needed.  Your entire bike tour will take place within the KATY Trail State Park, a Missouri State Park.  This is the longest rail-tail in the country.  

2012 Katy Trail Tour Tentative itinerary:

Day 1    Clinton to Sedalia  37 miles

Day 2    Sedalia to Rocheport 48 miles

Day 3    Rocheport to Jefferson City  36 miles

Day 4     Jefferson City to Hermann 46 miles

Day 5     Hermann to Augusta   37 miles

Day 6     Augusta to St Charles  27 miles

The starting elevation in Clinton, Missouri is 780 feet, we will reach a high point of 955 feet, then make for St. Charles which rests at 452 feet, 25 miles upstream from the confluence of the Missouri and the Mississippi rivers.

The KATY Trail surface is a crushed limestone surface.  A hybrid bike and tires of at least 700c are ideal for this trail.
