Learn to Fly Fish in Ohiopyle

Our classes are all-encompassing and designed for the beginning to intermediate flyfisher.

We will examine the theory and practice of fly casting and provide individual casting instruction at each student's pace. In addition, we will review equipment and knot tying, trout habitat, insect hatches and fly selection.

On the stream, you'll learn about reading water, presentation, and catching, playing, and releasing fish.Our classes are held along the banks of the Youghiogheny River and its tributaries. This beautiful mountain setting coupled with our knowledgeable instructors makes for a truly memorable experience.

Join Dale Kotowski in Ohiopyle June 2nd & 3rd 2012 for an Intro to Fly Fishing weekend.

You will arrive at the Wilderness Voyageurs' Ohiopyle base at 8:30 each morning to enjoy breakfast with the other participants and to discuss the day's adventures.  We will begin with a classroom session, focusing on equipment and insect life.  Then time to head outdoors and learn/improve you fly casting.  Before you know it, you will be knee deep in the water stalking those beautiful Youghiogheny Trout.

Included in your Fly fishing weekend:

  • 2 breakfasts
  • 2 days of instruction
  • All fishing equipment
  • 2 lunches
