Water Conditions

The Yough is dropping and clearing from the rains last week. Most of the leaves have fallen so you may actually catch more fish than leaves this weekend!

Youghiogheny Hatches

Not much new but a few suggestions in the must have department - flying ants, very small size 18, could be around all day. Slate Drakes continue but now are smaller. Size 14 will be just right into the fall. Fish a size 14 parachute adams with your favorite nymph dropper. Lastly - don't be without a tan caddis sz 14-16 and a corresponding caddis pupa pattern.

Dale's Tip:

Try waking the big trout up a little. Large streamers sz 4,6 & 8 offer a big bite to the hungry fall fish. Wooly buggers in olive & black, rubber buggers with some flash and bunny flies all could produce your biggest trout of the year. Strip them fast!

IMPORTANT: INVASIVE SPECIES INFORMATION! Please help in the prevention of invasive species, perhaps the greatest threat to our fisheries today!
