Your girl and boy scouts deserve a week long summer camp program that builds confidence, teaches outdoor skills and leadership and is terrific fun for them each day!
Wilderness Voyageurs has affordable, adventure-packed activities for your scouts to make the most of their summer experience! We also have rigorous safety protocols to help keep scouts and staff safe during all of the fun.
Here’s what you get:
Whitewater Merit Badge
Besides earning their whitewater merit badge, our goal with this two-day program is to give boy and girl scouts the skills to begin a lifelong love of whitewater! Wilderness Voyageurs is the largest provider of High Adventure Merit Badges in the Mid-Atlantic. We are registered with the Westmoreland-Fayette Scout Council. We provide the equipment, knowledge and advisors; you provide the scouts and the blue cards.
Rock Climbing
A full day of rock climbing in one of Ohiopyle’s many climbing areas. The guide will give a standard safety talk and demonstrate some basic moves to help get you started. Then they will take their post at the one end of the rope, hook themselves in and get ready to belay, taking up the slack in the rope as you make your way up the rock wall.
Mountain Biking
Ohiopyle is a fantastic place to learn how to mountain bike! After going over the basics — braking, turning, and more — we’ll hit the trails for a day of fun instruction! We provide the bikes, which are tuned by professional mechanics at our full-service bike shop.
Whitewater Rafting
Last but not least, there’s a whitewater rafting trip on the Lower or Middle Yough! Rafting is an awesome activity to cool off on a hot summer day, and your Scouts are sure to love it!
